Christian Mothers

The purpose of Christian Mothers is to foster the increased spirituality of all mothers of the parish as well as that of their families, to offer the gift of service for the facility of operation of both the school and the churches, and to serve as a major source of financial stability for the parish.

Christian Mothers meet on the second Monday of the Month at BVM Catholic Center.

Ladies of Charity
Humility - Simplicity - Charity

The Ladies of Charity of the United States of America (LCUSA) is a federation of Catholic women that continues, expands and improves the charitable and spiritual works accomplished by the local associations of the Ladies of Charity in the United States by:

•
Assuring that works of charity are carried on according to the directives of our founder, Saint Vincent de Paul, and in the spirit of Saint Louise de Marillac and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
• Forging a closely knit bond among LCUSA and all local associations in the United States assures that there is unity of purpose and approach in addressing the problems of poverty and injustice, thus improving the quality of life of all people.
• It fosters closer, more vital links, with the Association of International Charities (AIC) so as to profit from the experiences of Ladies of Charity world-wide and to be supportive of sister associations in their efforts to respond to unmet needs.

The concern of the Ladies of Charity, therefore, goes beyond strictly parochial matters and embraces the total community. As circumstances direct and time permits, the Ladies engage in civic activities, bringing the same witness of charity to these. They cooperate with other community groups, especially in activities for the relief of the poor and for the betterment of social conditions. They strive to build a true community, based on common interest, goals and activities, and held together with the bond of friendship which mirrors the union of love to which the followers of Christ should bear witness.

The Ladies of Charity meet on the second Wednesday of every month in the Holy Redeemer School lunch room.

Special Activities Group

The Special Activities group was established 39 years ago, on November 22, 1963. This group's principal objective is to raise funds for any deserving project in the church and school, and for aiding in any deserving project when requested. Some of the accomplishments over the years include the purchase of Bazaar vehicles for the past eleven years, major kitchen equipment, a new school gym, and construction of the new Catholic Center lobby just to name a few.

Social Club

The Holy Redeemer Social Club has three main objectives:

• To bring together members of the parish to promote a spirit of friendliness in the spirit of a Catholic community
• To raise funds for the purpose of improving and maintaining the facilities of both churches, schools and buildings
• To provide social functions to further our goals toward the brotherhood of all people in Christ.

Social Club sponsors an evening of Bingo every Saturday evening at St. Agatha Church Hall. Early Birds begin at 7:00 p.m.

Meetings take place every second Tuesday of the month at St. Agatha Church Hall. All are welcome!

Holy Name Society

The purpose of the Holy Name Society is to promote the social welfare of Christian men by encouraging them in the profession of their faith and to assist them in observing the practices of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, namely the frequent reception of the sacraments, the honoring of the Most Holy Name by an active religious life and the working against all things which offend the Most Holy Name.

The Holy Name Society meets on the second Sunday of every month at the School lunchroom following the 8:00 a.m. Mass.

Knights of Columbus

The goals of this Catholic men's organization include rendering aid and assistance to the sick, disabled, and needy members of the community at large, promoting social and intellectual intercourse among its members and their families, and promoting and conducting educational, charitable, religious, and social welfare and public relief work.

The Knights of Columbus meet on the third Thursday of every month at the St. Agatha Church Hall.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is a world-wide organization of Catholics, men and women, who offer their services to their pastor to aid him in performing spiritual works in the parish. This is done by placing themselves under the banner of Mary so that with her help they may develop greater holiness in their own lives as well as spread a deeper devotion to her among others.

The Legion of Mary meets every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Agatha Church Hall.

Examples of Apostolic Work Undertaken:

• Visiting the sick in hospitals, infirmaries, and their own homes.
