WHO WE ARE:
The Appalachia group is a youth-driven mission (8th grade & up) that was started by the Koska family of St. Gregory to give young people an opportunity to serve those in WVA following the great flood of 1985. Since that time, we have been spending one week every summer using OUR HANDS TO DO GOD’S WORK!
WHAT WE DO:
From Sunday to Friday (typically the second week of June) we head to Preston County, WV to serve those in need by building decks, wheelchair ramps, replacing roofs, and even building additions on to current homes. We sleep in dorm-style buildings and enjoy hot meals and fellowship every evening. No previous experience is necessary --only a willingness to learn. By the end of the week, you will have a full heart, skillful hands, and a new closeness to Jesus.
WHEN WE MEET:
We must raise around $20,000 each year to cover costs for food and for the supplies for our projects, as everything is completed free of charge for the homeowners. We do this is part by making and selling hoagies the first weekend of the month . Each person is required to help with at least 2 hoagie sales throughout the year in order to attend the trip.
