Knotted With Love

Knotted With Love was established January 10, 2007.  It started in Koppel at Queen of Heaven Parish and traveled to Holy Redeemer when we merged.  We are currently meeting at Holy Redeemer Center Lunchroom at 311 Lawrence Ave. in Ellwood City. 

Anyone is welcome to join.  Members do not have to belong to Divine Grace Parish and we also serve people that do not belong to the parish.  No one is turned away.  There are no dues and the meetings are very relaxed and filled with comradery.

We meet twice a month, usually the first and third Sundays.  The schedule takes into consideration holidays and church functions.  Everyone starts arriving between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.  Our formal meeting starts at 1:30 PM with prayer.

We crochet and knit lapghans, afghans, and prayer shawls to be distributed to shut-ins, nursing homes, the seriously ill, the bereaved.  We also include women's shelters, the Yellow Ribbon Girls, Wic, the Social Services Food Bank, Club Hope and various other organizations.  We also make cancer caps.  We give baby afghans to all our newly baptized and adult afghans to those in the R.C.I.A. who are fully received into the Church.

We do a fund raiser once a year in November.  It is a raffle of a Holiday Basket including a beautiful afghan.  We also sell, during the month of November, various home-made items such as towels, scarves, hats, Christmas ornaments, dishcloths, etc.  

Yarn donations are always welcome!
